Legend: The origins of Cloves became known in Europe following a publication by Marco Polo in AD 1298. In ancient China the Huns used it to sweeten their breath. During the Renaissance, pomanders were made with cloves to keep epidemics and the plague at bay. Clove was also used extensively to relieve nausea and alleviate toothaches.

Clove oils has long been used as a local analgesic for the relief of toothache. A blend of clove bud and a carrier oil rubbed directly on the tooth and surrounding areas is said to relieve pain for several hours. Clove Oil opens bronchial pathways so you can breath again, so great if you have bronchitis or cough. Clove Bud oil is great a massage blend for reducing pain and aches in muscles due to its analgesic properties. Therefore helpful for arthritis, rheumatism and sprains. Being antispasmodic Clove Bud oil helps stimulate digestion, restore appetite and help relieve flatulence. When mixed with peppermint oil it is a great little pick me up to ward off drowsiness.
