Legend: Traditionally Buddhist monks have inhaled Sandalwood oil to clear their minds before meditation. Australian Aborigines have made a cough medicine from soaking or boiling the inner bark in water. Sandalwood was a major export of Australia in the mid 1800’s, now there are ethically grown plantations. It takes 30 years before a tree can be harvested and due to global warming these trees throughout the world are becoming endangered.

Heal your body: As a gently sedating analgesic that also helps to relieve pain. It is useful for respiratory mucus and infection. Very useful to alleviate cystitis and should be massaged in the kidney region where it has a purifying and anti-inflammatory action. Can decrease motor activities and help such problems as eye twitching. Also has properties which induce a deep and longer sleep patterns or meditations. An excellent oil for the skin, sandalwood may be used for dryness, irritation, itching and inflammation and is helpful for both eczema and psoriasis.

Blends well with: Jasmine, Patchouli, Rosewood, Vetiver and Ylang Ylang. It is also interesting to note that blending Australian Sandalwood with Rose essential oil makes for a great aphrodisiac blend.

Directions: Suspended in a base of pure Jojoba oil, this Sandalwood Australian pure essential oil blend can be applied neat to the skin or used in massage. Please note: that Essential Oils blended with Jojoba do not burn as well in candle vaporisers (unless they are very well heated). The water in the candle vaporiser needs to be quite hot and the newer open style burners just don’t heat the water/oil up enough, so if you are purchasing a new vaporiser make sure you get an enclosed one.
